DIRECTOR

I lead marketing. I make things. I build the systems that make marketing teams better.

SELECTED WORK

9th Street Marketing

At 9th Street Marketing, my role extended beyond the work we produced for clients. I helped build the agency itself—its identity, its capabilities, and the systems that allowed us to produce great work on a schedule.

I led the agency's rebrand, developing its positioning and voice, writing its core messaging, and directing the design and development of its website.

I also built and led the team, expanded our in-house production capabilities, and introduced workflows and tools that brought greater structure, visibility, and efficiency to the creative process. It was an opportunity to shape not just what an agency looked and sounded like, but how it operated.

At the same time, we were creating work for a diverse book of clients. From manufacturers and technology companies to performing arts organizations, retailers, and consumer brands, our team tackled a wide range of challenges. We developed brand identities, websites, campaigns, e-commerce experiences, photography, video, and event creative. We often solved problems before the client even knew they had one.

That combination defined my time at 9th Street: building a stronger marketing organization while leading the work it was built to deliver.

The Paramount theatre

SELECTED WORK

Honoring History. Building for the Future.

Some brands call for reinvention. The Paramount Theatre called for something more nuanced: a renewed identity that respected nearly a century of history.

I guided a comprehensive brand refresh for this landmark theatre in Anderson, Indiana. Working with our design team, we refined its logo, simplified, and developed a cohesive visual and messaging system rooted in the building's architecture and its relationship with the community.

A comprehensive brand guide and refined promotional standards brought consistency to everything from touring productions and community programming to private events and fundraising.

We carried that thinking into a custom, CMS-driven website designed to serve ticket buyers, event planners, donors, and sponsors without losing the character of the venue itself.

I directed the broader creative approach and contributed hands-on through extensive original photography of the theatre. Capturing its extraordinary architecture, spaces, and atmosphere gave us imagery that The Paramount Theatre truly deserves.

The success of this project was the balance of honoring a remarkable history while giving the organization a clearer voice, a stronger visual identity, and practical tools to connect with future audiences.

SELECTED WORK

AUTOMATE TRADE SHOW

Trade shows are crowded environments, and industrial technology is notoriously hard to explain. For the Automate 2026 trade show in Chicago, our challenge was to make a complex offering immediately understandable, and give attendees a compelling reason to stop.

I led the creative direction for Rain Engineering's 20-by-30-foot exhibit, shared with software partner Velotic.

We needed to bring two distinct brands into one cohesive experience without compromising either identity. A clear co-branding strategy—“Velotic Software. Delivered by Rain Engineering.”—established their relationship, while the campaign “Are You This Good? Our Customers Are.” gave the work a confident, memorable voice.

We carried that concept across large-format environmental graphics, motion content for 20-foot LED displays, wayfinding, printed materials, apparel, and show-floor content.

Rather than lead with technical features, the messaging emphasized outcomes such as visibility, control, uptime, and performance. Live robotic demonstrations made the technology real and turned the booth into a place for conversation.

My role was to connect strategy, messaging, and execution across every touchpoint. The result was a unified brand experience designed to attract attention, communicate complex ideas clearly, and help the team start conversations that lead to sales.

For an independent author, a direct-to-reader storefront isn't just a sales channel, it's an expression of the stories, characters, and personality readers already love.

I led the creative direction for a full rebrand and Shopify e-commerce experience for romance author Isabel Jordan. Her books were already reaching readers through Amazon, but she wanted an independent destination where fans could discover and purchase her work directly.

Romance publishing has a distinctive visual language, and Isabel's personality is uniquely her own. Her mix of paranormal romance, romantic comedy, sharp humor, and irreverent attitude needed an experience that felt authentically hers.

We worked closely with Isabel to develop a visual identity and digital experience that reflected the style of her books and connected with her audience.

At the same time, the site needed to function as a sales platform that converts. We organized the shopping experience around intuitive navigation, book series, genre collections, and bundles, making it easy for readers to find their next favorite.

My role was to bring creative vision and commercial objectives together. The result was a distinctive, brand-driven storefront that gave Isabel greater control over how she connects with readers and sells her work.

Photography has been a constant throughout my career, not just shoots that I've produced, but a craft I've practiced professionally for nearly twenty years.

On-staff and through my own business, I’ve created images for brands and organizations including Salesforce, Ulta Beauty, Kenra Professional, Industrious, and many more.

My work includes people and portraits, beauty and products, architecture and interiors, and commercial storytelling.

That range has allowed me to adapt my approach to the subject while staying focused on what the work needs to accomplish.

I've managed productions from concept and pre-production through studio or location shooting, retouching, and delivery. I also taught commercial photography at Herron School of Art + Design, and I've continued shooting while leading creative teams, including extensive photography for the Paramount Theatre and building an in-house studio at 9th Street Marketing.

Great photography requires more than technical skill. It takes curiosity, preparation, collaboration, and a willingness to keep pushing after the shot is "good enough." Whether an assignment is large or small, my goal is to deliver images that exceed expectations and help a client tell their story with confidence.

Great marketing doesn't happen in a vacuum. Behind the ideas, design, and production is an operational framework that helps talented people do their best work.

At 9th Street Marketing, I was responsible for more than leading the team. I also built much of the infrastructure that allowed the agency to operate effectively.

I led the evaluation and implementation of Monday.com, developing a comprehensive project management system that connected production schedules, workloads, resource utilization, and project status.

I expanded the platform to track costs, margins, and agency financial performance, creating dashboards that provided visibility to both the creative team and leadership.

I also introduced PageProof to streamline creative review and approvals, bringing structure and accountability to internal and client feedback.

Alongside these systems, I implemented human-led AI workflows that supported research, creative development, and production while keeping creative judgment firmly in human hands.

Marketing operations should do more than keep projects on schedule. The right systems reduce friction, improve collaboration, and free talented people to focus on what they do best.

Building those systems was an essential part of building the agency, and an equally important part of my approach to creative leadership.

My career has never fit neatly into a single discipline. I've worked as a Creative Director, commercial photographer, writer, publisher, educator, and business owner. Along the way, I've learned that the best creative work comes from understanding not just what needs to be made, but why it matters.

My experience includes brand strategy, design, digital marketing, photography, content development, and creative operations. I've led in-house creative teams, helped launch and grow consumer brands, built an agency from the ground up, and continued doing hands-on creative work throughout.

I've had the opportunity to work with organizations including Salesforce, Ulta Beauty, Kenra Professional, WFYI, Rain Engineering, and The Paramount Theatre. These different industries bring different audiences and different challenges, but have a shared need for strong ideas and work that performs.

Good creative leadership requires equal parts vision and practicality. It's about asking better questions, building strong teams, staying curious, and never losing sight of the details that make the difference.

If you're looking for someone who can lead the creative process, contribute to the work, and understand the business behind it, let's talk.
